When I recently replaced the PTO shaft seal on my M, the kit came with two "lip" seals and a gasket for the housing to trans surfaces. The original leather seal was about 1" to 1 1/2" thick and the double seal arrangement works well. I think you did the right thing using two seals. My 2¢,
