More info needed so we can help you help your self... Is the smoke a blue sort of smoke that smells of burned oil or is it more of a black smoke that may smell like gas??? If black then first off when was the last time you serviced the air cleaner?? You could also have some rust/dirt floating around in the carb making so the float needle does not close like it should all the time and that will make it run way rich. If a blue type smoke that could be a valve sticking or a sticking ring. I would pour about a quart of ATF into 3 gal of gas and run it that way and that should lube up the rings and valves
