That is, in my opinion, the answer. PC style seals (or even umbrells style) can be installed easily with out removing the head (if the existing valve guides are sized for the PC seals). Remove the rocker shaft and pushrods, keeping them in numeric order. Remove spark plugs. Using a piece of 1/4" cotton rope about 2 foot long, push all but 4 inches into #1 cylinder. Using the crank (never the starter motor) or the rear wheel when in high gear, compress the rope into the valves so they stay up. Remove the keepers/retainers, and springs, put on seals, Refit parts. Repaet 3 more times. Best of luck, Jim.
