For the way you are going to use the tractor, either or both are ok. I would favor the one in front. However, in terms of originality -- no. The one in front and probably the one in back would hit the plants when cultivating, which was still a much used operation until at least the 80's around here. So it depends on whether you want it original or practical. Since I have no use for the correct police, I might even copy that on my Super M, maybe a smaller step. Depending on wheel spacing, etc, for me I would prefer to mount from the front.
