Make sure the timing is right and check the advance to make sure its working. My distributor was really messed up inside and the advance was'nt working at all.( I feel like I've been to IH Distributor 101,102, and 103 now) A little heavier oil might help out in the blow-by dept.(ie 40w instead of 30w) What size mower are you running? Could it be that you got more mower than tractor?
