I have never heard of one of those pumps even getting close to that 3200 psi. They just strip the thread off or break the shaft when someone tries to up pressure too much over maybe 1200 max. The relief valve is only thing controlling the pressure. Are you using a double action cyl. If so, an internal leak in the cyl will make the pressure raise to about four times normal as the load is actually carried with the area displaced by cyl rod and not the piston. Check your pressure with no cyl hooked up to see what you have.
