Hi guys. I have a nice running 350U, with factory power steering, and the steering is broke. Let me share with you what I know. My 365954R91 bearing is junk. For those of you trying to help out by suggesting crossing it to a modern one, it cannot be done. This bearing is unique. It was made in sections in order to be assembled onto the shaft of that has two sector gears that are part of the shaft. In other words, you cannot slide a new bearing onto the shaft, even if you found one with the correct dimensions. FP smith comes up when you google the part #, but I called, and they have not had one in years, same with other hits that came up. The bearing was made special for IH by Mcgill bearing. Mcgill was bought by Emerson. Emerson is no help. they discontinued it years ago. This bearing was only used in a few models, and only on the power steering versions of those models. IH changed the design shrtly after. More bad news. Salvage yards will not sell you a used one, because they only want to sell you a complete steering box. Some even told me they want my old box with all parts as part of the deal. One place said if I send them my box, and $1050, they'd send me a good one. Another common item that breaks in these boxes is the 3 toothed "rack", part number 366178R1. There are a couple companies selling these, because they are having them made. One wants $250, and another wants $450! Just for a 3" long bar of steel with three teeth on it. More bad news. The aftermarket Jackson power steering for the 300 and 350U's uses a hydraulic cylinder on each side of the tractor to turn the wheels, but they have you leave the working manual box in place to keep the 2 wheels tracking together. But if your gears are broke, or not meshing because of the bearing failure like mine, your out of luck there. I emailed Jackson, asking if it could be done without a working steering gear. that was a month ago, and no response. I have a series of videos showing my attempt of saving this 350U. the last video is Part 26, where I quit because of the bearing issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O66ZXJcbVoo
