I bought mine most recent ones from Carquest and they didn't use them IIRC. I haven't bought CNH filters since 2005ish.
Edit - I do remember I was mad because they don't come with the o-ring and I had to go to CNH and buy one. I would have been better off buying them straght from the dealer.
