As long as I'm fixing little annoying things on my "new" 454 I decided to do the top seal on the steering unit, which occasionally leaks a few drops of oil around the shaft. CIH says it's no longer available, but the steering motor on a Ford 7710 seems to be the same unit and the seal for that is available with a CNH part number. What's more crazy is that if I want the entire steering motor, the dealer lists it at $675 if I order it with the CNH part number and over $2000 with the CIH number! Maybe we ought to start compiling a cross-reference database of silly stuff like this...
