well we had same problem with our 504 and there a proper bracket that bolts on the front where the hole for the crank goes. then your able to add as much as you want at least thay on the 504 the 404 is simmilar.I was woundering would you have a picture of your 404Farmall you could send there none on net any where.I always wanted one when we where on farm to replace the c we had Thank you!
