The original is capable of being set to a specific depth using a collar around the top of the ram. This pin and collar, when adjusted lower on the chrome ram, shuts off a valve in the cylinder head that stops the inflow of pressure, stopping the cylinder at a set depth. If it is used regularly by you, it would be important. If you do use it the replacement will not work in that way, and it will be missed. The only ways to get that feature would be to have your OEM cylinder rebuilt, or find a good used IH cylinder. Jim
