I had a 450 diesel ,i would let it run on gas till it ran smoothe the swtich to diesel worked it hard pulling 4/14 540 i/h plows 10 to14 hrs. aday . my buddy had the same thing ,we would cool them down at the end of the day till the temp gauge was on cold then shut them down on the diesel side in warm weather ,only in the late fall would we switch back to gas to clean the plugs. my old 450 is still out there running, tryed to buy it back but the guy won't sell! never cracked my head. now my buddy, well he blew his up to much alchol/nitro for tractor pulling
