Could I respectfully disagree a little bit? I agree, the farm clothes are the best, except for the sheet metal. Once iron / steel corrosion starts it doesn"t stop, the metal continues to attract and collect moisture and the corrosion proceeds right on down, unless you stop it. Doesn;t mean much for heavy cast iron housings or channels, but the sheet metal will rot away. I always think it is best to at least remove the rust and prime the sheet metal with a primer. Use different brands of primer if you want to keep an old look, but at least stop the corrosion on the thin stuff. And keep the old beauty indoors.
