I read where a writter recommended using a small diameter rubber automotive vacuum tubing split down one side as a lense gasket. You may want to give it a try, if you can't locate one.

As I grew older (7), it was the thrill of my day to ride or drive on the tractor. My Papaw had a 1954 IH Super A that he bought to replace a Cub.
