My H did that after I installed Super H gears in it and with the help of Janicholson I discovered that I had a cracked tooth that had broken off under load on the lower constant mesh gear at the front of the transmission. Every time the broken tooth came around it would clunk. Luckily I had another spare gear on hand and was able to change it out and the noise went away. You could probably diagnose the problem by removing the belt pulley drive or cover plate and peering in at the constant mesh gears while turning the engine over with the ignition off.
