By golly Allen, got to disagree with you on this one. That indeed is a filter. It really cleans up a system that is full of crud. I used to install the kits on tractors that were a few years old and that first couple of filter changes could be plugged solid. One guy hooked one up backwards and it completely plugged the inside of that element. You could just tell when you drain those engines, the difference in the looks of the coolant in the bucket. Even with out cavitation protection I would say they are a great thing to have on any tractor, gas or diesel.
