Do yourself a favor ,even if you get a late block, convert it to the early style liners ( flange type) they are a much better system. Changing is not difficult --hone .001 from bore of block , cut counterbores .
IH was so sure that the late liners were going to slip down in the bore that they said that the .045 height was alright if it slipped down to .018 above deck . Not a reasuring thought. I made the tool to install the late liners to .045 , used once . For the last 20 years I have converted all of those to the early liners.
