With respect, no flame, Sorry, there may be a totally different switch on yours, there are no 5 position switches on letter Farmalls from the factory. The power (light portion of switch) on D goes from the fuse to a resistor terminal through the resistor to a wire that splits to each light for dim lights, and from a separate terminal to the rear light. (full bright on that) On the B position, the power goes to the light end of the resistor, (bypassing it entirely) and to the wire to the lights. Rear light same as before. A bad switch and burnt resistor will cause front lights to fail to work, but a burnt resistor (light resistor) will only stop the front lights from working on D. Jim
