Seems not to get fire why not check to be sure??? Easy as pulling the coil wire off the cap and with the ignition on hold that wire about a 1/4 inch from the block and spin it over that way you know if it is or not. If it is not then either you wired it wrong or the points need to be cleaned. Easy way to check that is run a hot wire from the battery ignition side to the ignition side of the coil and see if it runs. If it does you did something wrong when you wired up that solenoid
