The way you word this post not sure if your saying it was fixed up sorry I hate the term restored since most are not just paint and call it restored which that is not. Any how so it ran well after the paint job or it would not run then you got it to run then had a carb problem or what??? You also said it was parked for a few weeks as in how long and did it get water maybe in the engine or condensation?? Could have had a stuck ring and then using the starter fluid if you used it heavily you could have broken a ring or other such thing
