I have a stick of old lathe for a gas gauge that I keep with the tractor so I always measure the tank in inches rather than gallons. I made the 18 mile run between my place and my Dads place numerous times over the years with a SC , SM , and SHs , always wide open in high gear on paved roads with hills and stop signs. None of those tractors ever used more than 1 - 2 inches out of the tank. An H is really easy on gas unless you are working it hard .
