Ted, I too have an International Model 784 (and an original Operator"s Manual) for a tractor purchased in April 1982 from a dealer in Lennon Michigan. Here is where the various identification numbers are located: Tractor Serial # - rt. side front (just forward of fuel filters); Engine Serial # - rt side of engine just aft of the fuel filters; Skidded unit Serial # - left side bell housing area & just aft of the starater motor. My serial # is 5248 which would indicate it was built in late 1980 even though sold by the dealer in April 1982. Hope this helps.
