It gets confusing. Some late production 300's have 350 components. Then to add even more, dealers/owners painted 300's to 350 paint scheme. Both 300's and 350's where produced in 1956.
Pictured is my 1955 300 with 350 emblems, pistons and paint. It also has the later "350" style fast hitch. The original owner bought it new in 1956 as a 350, rebuilt it once in it's life with a "350" kit. He repainted it just before I bought it. So based on that I suspect the dealer must have "converted" this 300 to a 350.
Serial # 19xxx,engine-C169, and A casting codes (9/22/A) show it to be a 300.
