fuel bowl position on a C

Just took the gas tank off to locate the fuel leak. The bowl was not even tight, so when I hand tighten it brings the bowl 90degrees from it former postion and the fuel line is too short. If I tighten it w/a wrench so its firmed up its on the wrong side of the tractor. Is there an adapter between the bowl and the fuel tank or is a new fuel line in order?
