Bill - They call them FARMALL's because IHC bought the plant in Rock Island ILL where your H was made to build the Farmall Regular in 1925. Production started in '26, the the F-20,30,12, & 14 and then the letter series in 1939. Start-up dates of models were usually staggered. The plant was referred to as the "FARMALL" Plant until it's closing in May 1985. Employed over 3500 people most of that time.(I was one of them) Most of the machine tools to build the 5X88 series were transfered to JI Case's Racine WI tractor plant and became the Magnum CIH series. There's a thread in this forum about 5 to 10 days ago about how Case/IH/New Holland is going to close the Racine plant now.
