Hi Tom, I suspect clutch has stuck to flywheel or pressure plate. My brother's neighbor who is a hobby farmer had a Kubota that had sat in a shed all winter without being used and same problem as your 584. BE CAREFUL to do this out in the open spaces as the only way to stop is by shutting off engine or stalling it with the brakes. Solution was to tie the clutch down, start it gear and carefully drive it to long driveway and for your 584 put it in 2nd or 3rd HI and jump on the brakes until the engine almost stalls then release brakes after repeating a few times clutch let go. If this does not work then you will have to open the inspection plate under the clutch housing and attempt to have a look for some mechanical failure of clutch and pressure plate.
