My 350U has been converted to 12Volt and, once it starts spinning, it starts pretty good. However you described the problem I've had for a while now...having to pull the starter, allow the spur gear to retract, then reinstall and hope for the best. A real pain. Would chamferring the spur gear teeth a little more help guide them into the flywheel more reliably?
