Well the comments are running barely in favor of "Not Hotter" I guess my personal experience is this, 6-Volt on a Super H and it would barely crank and charred the paint on the starter and discolored the insulation on the battery cables. Would Not start at ALL well. Had to pull it most the time. Converted to 12 volt, Now it starts almost instantly even when it's Zero. You have more Juice for your ignition, an alternator with solid state regulator, better selection of cheap batterys. The only thing to watch out for is the starter drive is prone to breaking because of the force it engages with. But Dad's '51 M has been doing it O-K for almost 20 yrs. Guess it depends if you actually want to use your tractor or constantly work on your tractor.
