Letter series question

This may sound odd, and maybe there is no answer...but...I was at a tractor show a couple of weeks ago (Brookville, IN), and they were having a pull. One thing that stood out was that ALL of the Farmall 'letter series' tractors sounded alike. They had a distinctive sound that was different from the Cases, Molines, etc. It didn't seem to matter if the tractor had a muffler, straight pipe, or ran right off the manifold. Is there any reason for this? Just seemed odd that you couldn't really hear any difference in the sound of a B, C, H, or M, and that it was DISTINCTLY Farmall. Is there something about the letter series tractors that would explain this
