I would leave oil in crankcase if it good oil, not oil that's been in there for years. air can not get to bearings that are coated in oil.
might pull plugs and put a shot of oil in each cylinder and turn over motor one or two times to coat the cylinder walls, do not want a stuck ring or motor when you get back to it.
