We had a fuel tank on a self propelled baler to clean out as it st for several years. It was suggested using pea gravel with solvent and shaking it around real good to chip off rust. Instead of pea gravel we used good sized (1/2 or 5/8) lock washers in the tank with the solvent. It had a bafel in it but we could move the washers past the bafel. with lock washers we could use a magnet to bet them all out and any remaining were big enough to not plug the outlet. Might want to put in line filter in outlet line for a while. you don't have to wait until after thanksgiving for this one
