That is wrong. You do not need to split the tractor to pull the shaft. Here is the link to my 3/4 size M (its an H...) Everything is about exactly (hyd pump drive coupling is the only thing I can think of majorly different) the same but smaller on an H.

IIRC S teiners sells the replacement gear. I would replace EVERY seal while in there. I don't think you would have more than $100 in it and you SHOULDN'T have any leaks when you are done. It is going to take some time to get your replacement gear so you will have some time.
