As mentioned by Zach there is a cover which covers the bottom opening on the torque tube on M's w/o the pump. It is not sheet metal and in fact is a heavy cast part which isn't that difficult to find usually. The part no. of the cover is 8027D. There are also some covers which fill the holes where the pipe fitting come through the torque tube for the belly pump as well and yet another one where the vent cap and pump dip stick are located on the upper part of the torque tube. The part no. for those caps is 57563DX and five will be needed. Now you have a reason to do some tractor salvage yard visits. I believe that cast cover is intended to provide additional strength to the tractor when a pump is not installed but I doubt it would be really needed for just a show tractor though, Hal.
