I think you are correct. If the tractor will roll with the clutch down, there is no real gear lockup happening, unless it is in a gear other than fifth. at which point it would be locked up and not move if pushed. If the TA or other component were locked up it would either not move, or it would not bog the engine. Starting in (effective) fifth with that bearing locked would feel like it was in two gears. It might be possible to drive it home in TA reduction if it is not too rough or muddy. The quick way of finding out if the pilot (intermediate trans bearing is frozen) is to jack up one wheel and see if it will drive that wheel forward. It should be in neutral for this test. Jim
