I had the identical problem with my 45 A. With everything snugged up it wouldn't pull fuel into the sediment bowl. But it would with the fuel cap open or sediment bowl loose. Ken Updike talked me through diagnosing and fixing it. Forget the gaskets. When you start the engine it's sucking some crud from the fuel tank into either the sediment bowl screen or in my case the screen inside of the tank itself. It just takes some loose flakes of rust in the tank under vacuum to clog the filter in the tank and stop the flow. I did however, also pull the the whole bowl assembly and fuel lines to clean and reassemble. But the culprit was still in the tank. Hope this helps. Barry Fogel
