If I remember correctly, you are right about the power unit fitting the C. I had a f504 and I know it would not work for that, like you said, different bell housing. What I did for a little insurance was bring the old block to the junk yard with me, but I"m sure you could make a template of your bellhousing and take measurements for the bolt holes to be sure. I know I wouldn"t want to spend the money on an engine that won"t fit unless there is a return policy from wherever you buy it. Also, you might want to think about weather or not the rest of the tractor can handle the extra engine. I would think the tractor would break traction before anything else, but just a thought.
