Don, That is a 2" black pipe and get it where it is the most reasonable. As to the threads any plumber that has that size tap and knows anything about cleaning those manifold threads will more than likely tell you to take a hike. We have used with a great deal of success a high speed Dremel or simular tool with the cut off wheel, just follow the threads down round and round and the old carbon and rust will clean out just fine. It will get very dusty while you are doing it. Good luck!
