Bill, Are you sure that your tach is the problem? Just went through the same experience with my 300 row crop. It turns out that through the years the inside of the tach cable conduit got filled with crud and the tach cable eventually bound up. This in turn made the plastic tachometer drive gear go "sneakers up". I took my cable apart, cleaned everything really well, and now the cable turns nicely in the conduit. I'm going to paint my cable conduit and then lube it with a synthetic oil and put the tach cable back in it. I checked and you can still get the tachometer drive gear from your local CaseIH dealer. The part number is 369 695 R91 and it costs 35 to 40 dollars. Hope this helps, Thor
