When I bought my T6 crawler a couple years ago, which has the same motor as a M ,there was no starter.I grabbed the starter off my W6 and slapped it on and tried it.It spun it backwards beautifully.I had to build one for it out of various parts and the starter drive is for a cub.The power unit and dozer use a different starter than the tractor farmall M.
