As far as rear wheel spacing, that all depends on what your row spacing will be. For most crops, the tires should be positioned as close as possible to twice the row spacing. If your using typical 30" rows this would put the tires at 60" center-to-center. A few inches one way or the other won't matter unless you have irrigation furrows in which case it needs to be pretty much right on. If you're looking at narrower spacing for vegetables things get a little more complicated. For example, in some areas onions are grown with two rows on each 40" bed and the tires are set at 80" which means the tractor is straddling four rows. At any rate, if your tractor has a narrow front you obviously need a setup that straddles an even number of rows.
