John, you reminded me of a neighbor back in the 70"s who built a 66 Chevy 3/4 4x4 (his was a long wide bed). If I run into him again I want to ask him if the truck was factory, or he actually took multiple trucks to build. I believe he rebuilt a total. Either way, he kept that truck many years, and I know he probably repainted it 2 or 3 times after the original rebuild. Not sure what type drivetrain it had, but the truck always had a gear whine to it like no other truck around, but then again I had nothing to compare it to as that was one of the few 4x4 pickups from that era around. Almost had to be the transfer case whining, as there were a lot of 4 speed trucks around but none whined like that?
