Here is a picture of how my setup is. Let me say first that although my steering is 100% hydraulic, you will still plumb a behlen the same way. you will have the pressure line in and return line out.
the pic is fairly self explanatory however aftermarket priority dividers have a pressure relief port in case there is a spike in pressure. This will be the fittin at the upper right of the valve thats at a 45 dgree angle. This linewill T into the RETURN line out of you steering motor on its way back to the res tank.
As far as by passing the factory valve there are two things that can happen. You can get lucky like i did and actually leave it in place and not have to monkey with it since it didnt work in the first place. my neighbor did his 450 this way and he said that although his vavle didnt work he had to take it off and 'gut it' so the fluid would pass through.
