McCormick-Deering Parts Availability

Hi, Everyone ---

I'm sort of new to tractor restoration, so please bear with my newbie lack of experience. I have a 1931 MD 10-20 KC, S/N 198288, which I just bought in July. I also have an Oliver 70 and a Case VC-12 that I have managed to keep in running condition, but the 10-20 is my first attempt at a 'real' restoration job. I'd like to get opinions on the availability of parts for this tractor.

Things I will definitely need are the radiator core (reservoirs are OK), a carburetor, exhaust, and rear wheels. The tractor has spoke wheels with tires. The wheels are rotted through, and the tires are completely shot. I would consider steel wheels for this tractor.

Things I might need include sleeves and pistons, clutch disk, cam followers and camshaft. I have the head off, and the valves look like they can be saved. The seats need grinding. Pistons are rusted in and I have not been able to free the engine yet. Pushrods look OK, and from what I can see through the hand holes, the bottom end looks pretty good, so maybe the camshaft and followers are OK. I'll be taking the clutch apart over Thanksgiving weekend.

Anyway, what are my chances of finding these parts? I'd like to have the feeling that I may be able to finish this project some day before I go diving in.

Also, does anyone know of any tractor salvage yards in Connecticut, southern Massachusetts, or southern Vermont? I'm in CT, and I get up to VT (where the tractor is) about one weekend a month if I'm lucky, so I'd like to spend some time poking through the salvage yards to pick up whatever I can.

Sorry about all the questions, but any help in this project would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully she'll be pulling wood out of the forest some time in the next few years.
