A service bulletin, dated 10/14/49 was titled "New covering material for upholstered seats Farmall & wheel tractors" and "New covering material for upholstered seats crawler tractors". I don't know the content, just the title. I presume it addressed the color change. Sometimes, bulletins cover items that have long-since changed. Others were out before the change. That is all I know related to the color change.
I have posted a picture from WHS in the past. It is from Loiusville in 1948 and the seat coverings are all black.
