if it's an electric gauge check for voltage,one terminal should have 12 volts the other goes to sending unit,if it has voltage ground the one to the sender momentarily see if the guage works if it doesn't gauge is bad, if it does ground the wire at the sender momentarily if it works sender is bad if it doesn't wire is the problem,as for the tach unscrew the tach cable form the tach try turning cable with your fingers if it turns your your drive is damaged or the cable square end that fits the drive is rounded off or cable is broken,if it won't turn start engine while it's disconnected from the tach to see if it turns also make sure the square end that goes into the tach isn't rounded off, you should be able to spin the drive end of the tach in the direction it turns and get it to move if its working
