Regulars before 27 didn't have a serial number on the frame. Mid 27 to mid 29 had them in front of the radiator on the left side. Mid 29 and newer had them back by the clutch housing on the left side just like an F20.
Engine serial will be your only number assuming the block hasn't been changed out.
As far as repo tags go, with the exception being sold by Mrs. Deiner they are pretty much Crap. I've seen them all and the craftsmanship of the late Mr. Deiner's tags were as good as factory IH.
