Recommend either a Hitachi, or 10SI Delco alt wired with 3 wires, the use of the 3 wire setup allows no battery drain when parked not running, it also charges with no revving to get it to excite. If it has no amp gauge, wire it as though the amp gauge was a continuation of the wire. If using the smaller Hitachi alt from a mid 1980s Nissan PU, the S is the same as the #2 terminal the L is the same as #1 terminal on the Delco. Use insulated spade connectors on either one for short protection. The thin wire from the starter to the ballast resistor coil side is the resistor bypass and comes from the I terminal (hot when cranking) terminal. Jim
