I-6 used a different ratio constant mesh gears that turn the countershaft faster compared to a M or W-6. PTO turns faster than 540. Ring and pinion Ratio the same as W-6. Some had low low first gear. I-6 4th and 5th sliding gear won't mesh with a M input shaft for 5th gear. will only mesh with a I-6 input shaft. If you don't care about the pto speed, you may be able to use the I-6 transmission gears with the slow speed low in a M and end up with a speed in first near a regular M and faster speeds between 1 and 5. Never tried myself due to parts being hard to come by for a I-6.
