Well...if it were up to me, I'm not sure I would use any of these options without first checking with some LTL shippers (less than truckload). They might pick up at the seller's house, load it, and deliver for $100 or so, maybe less. As for picking it up yourself, I tend to factor in the total cost of operating a vehicle versus the cost of fuel. You will come up with two very different numbers. on the average, it costs $.25-$.30 per mile to operate a vehicle. Assuming you have to drive 450 mile to and 450 miles back. you are looking at $270 for fuel, insurance, depreciation, etc. on your vehicle. If the seller will deliver for $100 or so, that may be an option. Most all equipment haulers will charge a minimum of $1 per mile, so they will cost at least $200. Start with the LTL shippers first, if they can't do it cheapest, I would be surprised. Second choice would be to try to cut a deal with the seller for them to deliver....just my opinion...BB
