Hi all, I am a mechanic by trade but not very knowledgeable on old iron so I hope you can help me out. I have my 46 M in 1/2 right now with the engine on the stand. It started with a broken cam gear so naturally I had to break the tractor in 2...I have learned that that"s how it goes with tractors. Anyhoo, I found that the aluminum throw out sleeve is broken and the input shaft is "loose". It think it is designed to have some play like a coupler but I am wondering how much is normal? the pilot bearing is fine and the wear pattern on the clutch/pressure plate looks ok, just not sure why that sleeve broke. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
